If you’re planning a holiday to Los Angeles you have to set aside a day or two for a good old shopping spree. Whether you want to visit the large shopping malls or the boutique stores, there is something for everybody when it comes to shopping in Los Angeles.
There is the famous Rodeo Drive, home to Tiffany’s, Chanel and Gucci. But just a walk along this beautiful street and soaking up the glamour and excitement it has to offer is enough, you don’t have to buy a thing.
Robertson Boulevard is the place to be seen. Most of Hollywood shops here so don’t be surprised to bump into your favorite celebrity. With shops such as Georgio Armani, it’s no surprise that this is a popular shopping area for the film stars.
A stretch of road between La Brae Avenue and Fairfax is a popular shopping place to be seen. Known as Melrose Avenue this is the best of high end shopping with everything from designer boutique stores to appliance stores, you are guaranteed to find what you are looking for here.
Beverly Boulevard is a quieter street which is filled with fantastic boutique shops including the men’s shop K. If it’s antiques you’re after then there is nowhere better than Third Street. Third Street is lined with boutique shops and antique stores.
Montana Avenue in Santa Monica is lined with boutique shops and cafés, while La Brae Avenue offers you lots of shops to keep you inspired. Santee Alley in Downtown is a shopping area that shouldn’t be missed. Shops filled with designer copies and low priced clothing, it is a shopper’s paradise.
Sunset Plaza is filled with outdoor cafés and boutique shops. Sunset Plaza is also home to the famous boutique store Madison.
With so many options for you to choose from when it comes to shopping in Los Angeles, it’s difficult to decide which are to go to and what street to walk down. There are areas, streets, shopping malls and boulevards just littered with boutique stores, antique shops, designer labels and well-known brands for the picking.
Venice Beach Boardwalk is renowned for its market feel, the entire boulevard is lined with people trying to sell their goods, find bootleg CD’s, designer knock offs and some good quality items as well. If you’re not interested in shopping, visiting Venice Beach Boardwalk is an experience on its own and should not be missed when visiting this bustling city.
Los Angeles his home to some great shopping malls, spend the day at the mall and get some retail therapy in with a great cup of coffee. Burbank Town Center offers a whole choice of stores and malls with Panorama Mall in San Fernando Valley being a firm favorite.
Other shopping malls include Lakewood Center in Long Beach and Manhattan Village in South Bay. Whether you are looking for new clothes or little trinkets to take home to family and friends, you are guaranteed to find the ideal gift at one of the many shopping areas available in the city.
The great thing about Los Angeles is they have such an extensive transport system that you can get to any of the shopping areas with ease using the train, bus, taxi or tube. You don’t need to worry about your car and getting around a city you don’t know, catch the public bus and spend your day enjoying your outdoor shopping adventure.
If you decide to visit Montana Avenue in Santa Monica you must spend a few minutes and have a drink at one of the many café’s and watch everyone run by, it’s a shopping experience you will never forget.
