All gardens provide opportunities for interested individuals to view plants from the world over which are horticulturally suitable, adaptable and desirable in Southern California, with an eye toward using the plants in their own home landscapes.

The Arboretum provides a Plant Science Library which features approximately 26,000 books and other material on botanical, horticultural and related subjects, open Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. -
5 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., a historical preserve of early California buildings and artifacts; and a Plant Information Hotline, Monday - Friday, 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Phone (626)821-3239.

Tram tours are available at the Arboretum, Descanso Gardens and South Coast Botanic Garden for $1.50. Call for schedule. To make arrangements for school field trips, call individual gardens.

The Virginia Robinson Gardens may be visited by advance reservation only: $7 for adults; $4 for senior citizens, students with ID and young people 5 - 17.

Admission to other gardens is $5 for adults, $3 for senior citizens and students with ID, and $1 for young people 5 - 12; children under 5 are free.
